Sheet-Metal-Fabrication

Sheet Metal Fabrication

Metcam provides world class sheet metal fabrication to its customers by combining advanced equipment together with sophisticated systems and processes. Within our 100,000 square foot facility we operate some of the world’s most respected names in precision equipment -- with all major machines having CNC operation. The fast production cycle times we achieve are in part a result of how we integrate this equipment and our processes. For example, by linking CAD solid modeling with computer assisted manufacturing (CAM) on our punches, lasers, and press brakes we are able to achieve shorter lead-times for the production of parts, as well as having fewer opportunities for error. This results in fast and accurate first article and production ...

Laser-Cutting

Laser Cutting Services

Our state-of-the-art dual-laser Bystronic flexible manufacturing system enables Metcam to perform high tolerance piercing and cutting on a wide variety of material types and thicknesses. This system has the capability to select a material from a storage tower, to load it into one of two laser cutting beds, cut the material according to the queued nest (that was automatically generated from a 3D solid model) and remove the completed cut parts. This system is able to run 36,000 lbs of material unattended.

The entire system is Windows compatible. It easily integrates into our shop's Local Area Network (LAN) and is integral with our larger logistics systems. Beyond laser cutting, the equipment and its supporting software can ...

Metal-Punching-and-Stamping

Metal Punching and Stamping

Within our Metal Stamping and Punching area, we operate six state-of-the-art turret punching machines from Amada, which provide punching tonnages of up to 30 tons and can handle materials of dimensions up to 50 x 100 inches. Advanced material handling equipment comprising of material storage towers and automated loading/unloading equipment are integrated with most of our turret punches. Our systems are fitted with advanced CNC capabilities, including Fanuc controls, ensuring efficient machine operation and reduced lead times. All machines are networked for file sharing and communication.

To minimize production costs, Metcam uses advanced nesting software to ensure optimal usage of material and reduction of scrap. In addition, ...

Metal-Finishing-Services

Metal Finishing Services

As part of our fabrication services, we provide various in-house or out-sourced metal finishing operations for the components we produce. Powder coating, silk screening, pad printing, labeling, and stainless steel brush finishing are just some finishing services that we offer.

A high-pressure multistage wash line is used for cleaning components prior to the powder coating process. The metal components are masked and plugged to ensure that coating is applied only on areas where necessary. The powder coating is performed either in a powder paint spraying system with paint reclamation features or in standard powder booths. After the coating process, the components are cured in ovens. All stages of operation are connected by a ...

Product-Assembly

Product Assembly Services

Product assembly is a value-added service in our sheet metal fabrication operations. We specialize in the assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical products. Our mechanical assembly services range from riveting small parts together to assembling 77-inch equipment racks.

We can help you to cut labor costs by pre-assembling some or all of your build-to-print sheet metal components. A variety of hardware components including power supplies, switches, backplanes, PCBs and wire harnesses can be assembled into your sheet metal assemblies.

We can power test, continuity test, or function test the final assembly, after which we will pack them in boxes (kits). Depending on your requirement, we can also directly ship products ...

Logistics-and-Support

Logistics and Support

Our full range of sheet metal fabrication and assembly services are supported by state-of-the-art materials logistic and support systems. Our expertise in logistics enables our customers to minimize the time and effort they must spend in material handling, inventory storage, product inspection and delivery. Our modern facility utilizes Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems to maximum the efficiency of information exchange. Our investment in lean manufacturing, Kan Ban and demand-pull production, inventory programs and direct-ship of your product to your inventory or even your customers can provide you with many cost saving options. We not only fabricate it, we’ll get it there on-time.
